Our Story

Like many other Italian Americans...

A New Beginning

In 1928, four Italian immigrants from the Piedmont Region of Northern Italy arrived in the U.S.A. seeking a better life for their families, just before the years of the depression. They brought with them the skills passed down from their fathers and a determination to succeed

Small Store to Big Dreams

After years of hard work and long hours, they saved enough money to open their own small business. Their little pork store, located on 28th Street and 10th Ave. in Manhattan, was the beginning of something special.

A Close-Knit Family

Over the years, that small pork store grew into what is now known as Alps. Despite the growth, Alps remains a tight-knit company where management and workers still gather around the same dining room table. Here, everyone is known by their first name, creating a family-like atmosphere.
